ArloQ VMC3040

I have tried to install this unit a couple of days.   It always end up with blinking blue light and a message that the camera cannot be found. 
We also have a new Tapo which installed right away as by the manual. 
Process: The Arlo camera installation follows the manual perfect until the final when the phone should find the camera. Then it stops and says “it cannot find the unit”.  Very annoying. 
Please - any advise will be most appreciated.   ….best, Stefan

A blinking blue LED indicates a connection. A failed one would be amber.

Any chance it's actually purple rather than blue?

 

A few folks have reported trying to connect "new" old cameras and failing. There was a post by a moderator that cameras with really old firmware can't be onboarded since the firmware simply isn't compatible anymore.
