Is there seriously no option to edit and save a clip from the CVR recording? Do I really have to download a 3rd party app that will allow me to record my screen while viewing the CVR recording?
Someone please tell me Netgear isn't this incompetent, please tell me they're not charging me $15 for CVR and all I'm able to do is review the recording?

Yes... that is true, there is no editing functions in CVR.

But any triggered events for motion will appear in the CVR and Library.

I too am disappointed as well but at least if you screen capture it yourself you can get the date and time (unlike downloading the motion video clips which lack a visible datetime stamp).  I opted for TinyTakes for screen capture.

Agree - No renew of CVR for me....

Nest gets my business there.

If you cannot slect a piece of a recording and download with appropriate timestamps, it's useless. The answer seems to be - if you want a clip set up an alert to get a few seconds. A few seconds is not enough! And that is what the basic service provides - so, why do I want CVR for extra money?

No renew, no new device updates, and when they die, they are gone.

You are correct and it also surprises me and frustrates me that this is the best they have.
