When I first installed my Arlo Q and switched the room lights off to go to bed I would observe the Arlo Q going into night vision mode. ie the Infra-red LEDs would come on.

However these days this doesn't happen unless I have the Arlo Q armed.

Is this to be expected? Has there been a software update to change the behaviour of the Arlo Q?

Steve

I can't use mine that way since it's pointed through glass. However, it used to be that as long as night vision was enabled in Settings, the LEDs would turn on due to constant streaming. Perhaps it's related to whether you have CVR - do you?

The camera is not operating in CVR mode.

Just noticed that when I first had the camera I would notice it going into night mode even when disarmed. Now it only seems to enter night mode when armed.

Guess it changed with a firmware update.  You can try to get info on it by opening a case using the Contact Support link below.

sfinlay,

This is expected behavior. Night Vision mode should only enable when the camera is Armed (and in a dark enough environment to activate Night Vision mode).
