Arlo q night vision

My Arlo Q is in a dark garage running continuously is that OK for the night vision to run continuously ?

And yes, it may run warm due to this , but thats ok

 

 

Joking aside... IR illuminators do have a finite life.  How long I don't know but I would guess over a year or two+ before they dim or fail. ( they are light emitting diodes )

Good thing is if they do, the camera will prob still be good and IR illuminators are not costly for ones the same size as on the camera ( check ebay for 850 nm )

 

Or if concerned, you can alway put in a 40-60w led bulb in gargage as thes cams do work well in lower light

You could also replace the garage light switch with a motion sensing wall switch and turn off the night vision. I've done this and it works really well. Its very convenient too when your hands are full. You can set the light sensitivity and time it will stay on.
