Date: March 22, 2016. One of my Arlo Q cameras just stopped working. It shows purple light. Tried the followings:

1. Clicked Sync button. After reading the code and heard the chime, the camera gave a buzzing beat. Then never able to go forward with the sync.

2. Tried the "Reset". Still not working.

3. Tried remove the device and "Reset" to start all over. Still not working. Showing purple light (It's not blue light)

Arlo Q camera was purchased from Amazon couple just couple of months.

Please advise.

A possibility is low voltage from the all wart. Do you have another beefy USB charger (2 amps output) from a newer phone or tablet to try? Lower amperage may not power the camera properly. You can also try a different cord. Have you changed the WiFi SSID or password recently on your router? If so, make sure you only use alphanumerics and observe case. Otherwise, it sounds like it could be a faulty camera.

KTang,

Is the purple light blinking? This indicates that the camera is too far away from the router. Consider bringing the camera close to the router and try to sync again. In addition to the above suggestions made by jguerdat, you might also try rebooting your router. Please let us know if you continue experiencing this issue.

Move the camera closer to your router and try syncing again.  The purple LED indicates low signal strength.

Install a WiFi analyzer app on your phone and walk around, looking for how the display changes relative to your WiFi signals.  That may help you find a better location for the Q.
