I just moved and set my Arlo Q back up in the new place. The status light has been flashing purple on a short interval, which indicates poor wifi signal. The Arlo app also showed that the device had poor signal.

The actual problem was that the device had *too much* signal. Probably its RF circuit can't handle too high of an input level. Maybe there is gain distortion somewhere in the circuit.

If you have the purple status flashing problem and it doesn't make any sense then try:
* Moving the Arlo further from your WiFi access point/router
* Making sure the Arlo power cable is not near the AP/router either
* Turning down your WiFi transmit power a little, if you have that option in your AP/router

My device no longer flashes purple, and the app now shows strong signal, even though the unit is further away from my router.

Hope this helps someone else.

Yes, good info....

Very commonly items in the home can block signals without knowledge... ie; mirrors, metal ducts in wall, etc.
