Arlo Q Plus only seems to record to local storage if it has internet

My Arlo Q Plus only seems to record to local storage if it has internet which seems counterintuitive... and not valuable for the places where I can't get internet access such as my cube...

I think, but don't know for sure, that the Internet connection is only required when first connecting. That apparently goes with changing networks and/or power cycling since it would appear to need a connection to get settings from the server (that obviously assumes there's no NVRAM to store settings).

Just a giant SWAG on my parrt...
