ARLO Q mic not working AND Firmware will not update

I recently received Arlo Q plus as a gift and set up at home.
However mic does not work, and stays as connecting but pending forever...
After checking the netgear blog, i realised that i should update the firmware to 1.8.3 (mine is 1.8.0); however it also does not update, even the camera restarted, it still has the same version... Restarted several times and now shows still 1.8.0 and c'nforms as no available updates...
The device bought from Germany; so i dont know what to do now..
Tried already:
-factory reset
-different wifi connections including mobile LTE and cable ethernet
-computer, app already tried..
-all options tried so far but no solutions
I saw in some correspondeces that swapping the device with a new one is the only option but it is a gift and i will try to solve it as far as you help.. Box was closed, brand new as well, not an open box.

Have you tried different browsers like Fire Fox, Chrome ?
( don't forget to turn on flash )
