Placement and aiming of the camera is important...
The PIR detect people to about 20ft+ but cars are a bigger reflector of IR so they can be detected at a longer distance.
So, 1)Aim the camera down a bit to where people are, cover a smaller area, 2) keep the view out of the roadway, 3) lower the sense level settings
