I have my cameras disabled but when I log into the website and log in to arlo and press live on the camera I still get motion and my battery is going flat. I understood that when my cameras were disabled there was not recording or motion detected and my batteries would not run down

How are the cameras disabled - On/Off switch in Settings or by using the Disarmed mode? On/Off won't allow the use of live view so I guess you're using the mode. Live view shouldn't be triggering recording by itself since live view overrides motion detection. You'd need to manually hit the record icon while live viewing. Of course, using live view excessively will deplete the batteries.
