my arlo pro is outdoors and is very slow to activate at night when detecting a movement, for example I only see part, approx 50 %, of the visual of an animal crossing in front of the camera

An animal is smaller than a normal person....
if that's what your trying to get , then 1) lower camera more to their level 2) increase the sense level
Either way, you prob need to increase your sense level...1% at a time and test ( so you don't get alot of false triggers )
( most of mine for people are set at about 92% )

It can take a bit of testing of different settings/camera positioning. as advised above the sensitivity needs playing with.
