Last year I purchased 2 outdoor power cord (VMA4700), and one of them melted my camera and as a result the cords were recalled. After several months I finally got the camera replaced, and I see now that a new outdoor power cord is available (VMA4900). I would like to know what is different about this cord, and is it safe to get or will it also damage my cameras. I see that on many sites the VMA 4900 is listed as unavailable or no longer in stock, so I am wondering if there is a problem with this cords as well. Any feedback would be appreciated.

No problems with the new outdoor charger have been noted here. It may be that there was pent-up demand for the new charger, leading to out of stock issues - don't know for sure. Can't say about other places but I see Amazon has them in stock.
