Hi,

Just received my dad’s old Arlo camera system that he bought in 2016. It hasn’t been used in years and I’m trying to install it in my apartment. I had trouble getting the base station to connect to my mobile app and had to factory reset it. It is now discoverable but it requires a firmware update but I keep getting an error saying firmware cannot be updated.

How do I fix this error?

What are your upload and download speeds as measured by speedtest.net? Slow speeds can cause this. Turning the base off and back on may help. If not, remove the base from Settings, My Devices. Hold the reset button until the LEDs flash amber and let the base reboot to green power and Internet LEDs (Camera LED should be off or amber). Claim again and see if the update works.

@jguerdat We pay for 1000 Mbps but it appears we only get 409.

I’ve tried all the basic troubleshooting so I have turned the base station on and off, factory reset, plugging into different ports, etc. The base does not show up in the settings/devices tab. It prompts a firmware update but it won’t update.
Thanks for your help.

Use the Contact Support link at the bottom here. Maybe it's a bad base.
