Updated my app and only have 7 days of recordings even with hard drive back up. Are they no longer offering 30 days with no subscription and now have to look for a new system?

If you had more than 7 days retention before, then you either had a subscription (paid or trial) or you were getting more storage than you were entitled to get. Free cloud storage was always limited to 7 days.

I don’t believe that arlo supported any legacy Cameras with more than 7days free cloud service without a subscription or trial.
The recordings should be available on the base backup storage device unless over ridden but you will need to eject and view on a pc.
Viewing the local storage recordings via the arlo mobile app is limited to the cloud storage limit unfortunately.

Yes, Unfortunately it appears that arlo app updates are geared to raise revenue while not providing customer oriented improvements.
The way forward is to not update once you have a workable version then ignore the eye candy click baits.

That won't work. The app has supported both interfaces since early 2023. Which one you get depends on how Arlo has your account configured.
So even if you choose not to update the app, you will eventually be migrated to "Feed".
