First off, as far as I'm aware my mother is paying for a year long subscription, why is the video only saving 10 seconds of storage?
Second off, how in the world does this camera not have the ability to go back and look at the last 24 hours of video without purchasing a continuous subscrition plan that costs at minium $10 a month per camera?
I'm highly disapointed here.

There are various FAQs here detailing the details of these issues as well as many others.
First, you have to edit your modes and rules to increase the recording length. Use the Mode tab, click on your base, and edit (or create new) modes to do this. Be sure to save.
These are battey-operated cameras and will never record 24/7 without AC power applied. However, you need to subscribe to CVR if that's what you really need/want. The free plan isn't about 24/7 and never has been - it's about motion detection.
