I am new and trying to get some ideas on setting up some rules and a schedule. I'd love to hear about some of your setups and how you got your rules set. I've got a five camera system and haven't set up all my rules yet.

Thanks

Welcome to the group!
Back when I had 5 cameras, I had two in my front yard, one down each side of the house, one in the backyard.
The two in the front yard had one looking straight out and one at 90 degrees to that on a side fence with a black skin on a black fence. The two front yard cameras not only detect motion and record, but they also trigger the other one to record.

So, my rules were
Front Door detects motion and Front Door records for 30 seconds
Driveway detects motion and Driveway records for 30s
Front door detects motion and Driveway records for 45s
Driveway detects motion and Front Door records for 45 seconds
Kitchen side of house detects motion and Kitchen side of house records until motion stops
Garage side of house detects motion and garage side of house records until motion stops
Backyard detects motion and records until motion stops

7 rules for 5 cameras since there is cross triggering of the two cameras.
I also found that during the day, cars driving past would reflect a lot of IR so I had to turn down the motion sensitivity of the cameras that could see the road, but I didn't want to have a delay in detecting people at night.
I made two custom modes, Day, Night.
Night has all the same rules as Day except all the motion sensitivities are either 100 or close to 100, whereas some of the Day sensitivities are in the 70s.
I use the schedule to automatically change between Day and Night modes.

I considered playing with Geofencing as well to have the backyard camera disarmed while I'm home but I'm pretty happy with the schedule and the backyard either doesn't get triggered a huge amount or I manually change to another mode where the backyard camera doesn't have a rule and thus is disabled. Just gotta remember to change back to Schedule mode afterwards

Hope that's not too confusing!

Yeah that makes sense after playing with the rules. I kept messing mine up. Front door senses motion front door records. Drive way senses motion front door records. Deck senses motion front door records....etc. didn't notice I had to tell it to switch camera. I really like that I can have multiple rules for the same camera. I think I am going to really like this Arlo.
