Reluctance to update with new arlo cam

I would love to update my old arlo pro cams but refuse to because I've read too many posts about adding a newer cam rendering old cams & base useless. We have a felon neighbor across the street and I can't afford to replace remaining four cams just because I want to try out new abilities/specs of a newer arlo cam unless I have in writing from arlo that nothing about my old system will change. I'm OK with paying a monthly charge for one new arlo cam if there's a guarantee my old free 7 day for my 4 old cams remains intact.

Since most of the newer cameras can also connect to your WiFi, I would use that rather than trying to connect to the existing base.
