RECORDING QUALITY ON USB

When I review the footage that has been saved to my USB stick, I get a vertical video which appears to be only a tiny portion of the entire captured footage. And what little there is of the video is extremely pixelated.  It almost looks like the camera is tightly zoomed in. Attached is what I'm getting.

 

Does anyone know how to adjust this?

This usually depends on the viewer being used.  VLC is a free viewer that is known to work well on all platforms.
