I've recently switched my internet from Spectrum to T-Mobile and after a disastrous time went back to Spectrum. I am 99% sure I had my base station somehow wirelessly connected to the internet...I have a Spectrum modem and an Eero mesh wifi system. My Eero "base" is upstairs, and two "extenders" are downstairs and upstairs...the location I remember my Arlo base station being in before all the switching was in a downstairs location and DEFINITELY not connected via ethernet to anything.
Pre-Eero days I had the Arlo base station connected to the Spectrum modem via ethernet in my office. After Eero installation I was able to move the Arlo base downstairs and it was not connected via ethernet to anything.
Everything I read says I should have to use ethernet to the Arlo base but I know I didn't before....but I can't remember how it was connected?

You will need to connect the base Ethernet cable to the rear Ethernet port of the wifi satellite pod.

Can you provide the model of the cameras used, some camera models connect directly to the local wifi, not the base station which may explain the confusion.
The Base station requires the internet via the Ethernet cable connection to the router modem although you can use a wifi extender with an Ethernet port to have it working at a remote location.
Half of the problem will be getting the arlo app to work finding the Base station. You might be best of trying it with a pc browser connected directly to the local network.

I purchased the system two years ago, so I think it is the base Arlo Pro not the Pro 3 or 4...
The system is up and running just fine...only issue is I want to put the base station back where it was before...and I KNOW it was sitting there all by itself, no ethernetted (if that's a word!) to anything.
Thanks!

I did that, and it works just fine. However, I am positive that I did not have the base station hardwired into anything before I set up my mesh Wi-Fi system. I’m really confused as to how that could’ve happened, since all the advice says it Hass to be hardwired in.
Thanks for your help!!
