Specifications for the Arlo Pro camera state: -4° to 113° F (-20° C to 45° C)

However, temperatures at the time of this 'error' were 34F, well, well above the -4 lower threshold.  However, at 34F one of my Arlo Pro cameras reported a battery error, "Charging paused - Camera's battery temperature is too low."

This means the actual operating temperature of the product IS NOT -4F.  It's somewhere in the 30-40F range.  A product that isn't charging propertly is NOT OPERATING PROPERLY.

"Arlo Pro is expected to operate at -4° to 113° F (-20° C to 45° C). This is for both battery and AC."

Oh and James, you mention above "this is for both battery and AC", does that mean AC alone? or AC with battery installed?

There is a difference.

I suspect that the temperature cutoff is specific to the camera. Some of mine turn off a bit before -4F and don't turn back on until approaching 10F. Others operate more like -4F to 0F. YMMV.

If I remember correctly from reading your past posts, you have batteries in all of your cameras correct?

I guess I'm just trying to confirm that AC power without battery will not shut down the camera at any sub zero temp.

I have an Arlo Pro.

It is -25C (-13F) right now.

Batteries only - does not work, camera needs to warm up

Batteries + AC - does not work, camera needs to warm up

AC only - works, no problems

Last night I had it on AC only, it got down to -30C (-22F) and the camera worked. Captured me starting the car in the morning.

Thanks for posting. That's great information.

I would say that definitely confirms that the Netgear operating tempurature specs are only accurate based on battery power or battery power with AC.

I would bet that constant AC power will be much more reliable for you too.

Again, thanks for the information, maybe Netgear will revise their specs on this option.

Yes, I have batteries in all of my cameras, AC or solar panel powered or not. None of the outdoor cameras have AC - just not feasible with my installation.

Thanks for confirming.

That would also confirm that the cameras will will not shut down in sub zero temps when powered by AC only which is contrary to what James and Netgear have told us.

My question had been answered.

Good day everyone!
