I've read several posts that suggest either restarting or resetting if Arlo (Pro) is notifying but not recording.  I'm getting the impression from the volume of posts and from Support that it requires babying.

1. How often are you having to restart/reset?

2. Is proactive restart recommended, and frequency?

3. Should I expect a recording for every notification (assume avg 1 notification every 30 minutes)?

I have firmware 1.8.2.4_10232 with sensitivity of 50% (still picks up some bugs & leaves, so doesn't seem to be under sensitive). Even with battery >90%, there have been inconsistent recordings in the 10 days I've had it (It's missing recordings of me & notifications received real-time, but no recordings even after ). I get notifications from Arlo and SmartThings. SmartThings is set to record for 2 minutes anytime motion is sensed (viewable in both ST & Arlo if recording happens).  When recording "fails", ST acts like it is expecting it, but one never appears.  Arlo has no trace that it even tried.  I'm not close to home to troubleshoot, but makes me wonder about the frequency which it is needed. When the solar ring is available, I plan to put Arlo ~15 ft up, so any maintenance that requires frequent access, or general babysitting, is improbable. Appreciate insight into your experiences!

1) I restart the base maybe once every few months.  It generally is due to me making a change and just wanting to refresh the system.  While there may be lots of suggestions to restart, they're typically for a one-off issue for one particular person.  If nothing else, it's just one troubleshooting step.

2) If you have to proactively restart the system, something is wrong and needs to be resolved. Otherwise, you're just masking the problem.

3) If you receive a notification, you should also have a video. There have been instances of delayed videos for unknown reasons but that's not typical.  Note that push notifications are instantaneous while email notifications occur after the video has uploaded.
