I don't understand why it the camera detects cars passing by at almost 60 feet distance (set to 80%), when I am reading people saying it only works up to 20 feet.  I am not complaining as I want this, but I now don't trust that this is reliable.

So at 95% what is the sensor distance for any motion? Does Arlo have a spec? I really need to be able to at least record at 60 foot any motion.

Thanks!

The Arlo and Arlo Pro use PIR devices to detect motion...PIR devices see IR change levels to trigger the camera

The reason why cars are picked up at a greater distance is that they are good source of IR ( reflection of same / sun ).

If you looking to pick up people at 60 ft, it isn't going to happen ( unless they are maybe on fire in winter ).

For people a 20ft is about max, tho the PRO model uses a dual PIR setup so does trigger faster than the Arlo.

need to provide a separate sensor that can be placed further away from the camera to trigger video
