I have this notification message popping up at least once a day for the past week. I never had it before having owned the Arlo Pro system for the past couple of years.

Currently my Base Station is a VMB4000r3 with firmware 1.15.0.1_3162_d878851.

I did not make any changes to the system and the local storage is a usb-powered 120gb external hard drive. I haven't had any issues with it aside from these annoying messages. I recently (re)formatted the drive within the Arlo app to see if that will help. Once the format completed the notification popped up immediately.

Any suggestions to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It sounds very much to me like the drive is powering itself down on a timeout and/or the base can't reliably supply enough current to the drive. I'd strongly suggest using a thumb drive instead since they're cheaper and much easier to eject and reinsert than a hard drive.

Thanks, I replaced it with a Kingston thumb drive and that seemed to resolve this problem.
