How long does camera and battery life actually last?

I purchased the 6 camera set last year 2017 in Dec. One camera is already down and so is one of my batteries. After going through all of the steps with Tech Support, they said that there is nothing that can be done. How long do these cameras actually last? I shouldn't have purchased this brand have I known that the life was this short!

Faulty hardware exists everywhere. My cameras of various models have been running for the past 4 years.

For your battery, sometimes you have to use the proper procedure to charge them again:
