How do I use the Microphone?

I am trying to figure out how the microphone works.  When I click on the icon it turns Green, but when I speak into it to test it, my husband could not hear me.  Is this pulling off of my microphone from my phone?

You click on the icon, and then HOLD to talk....

 

What device are you using??  PC, android, Ios??  makes a difference as PC works the best ( as you can adjust mic gain ), android and ios if you can turn off noise canceling/ privacy talk .. The speaker volume is also adjustable in the audio settings of the camera
