Having trouble conecting base stationto my cable company router. Router has 4 ethernet ports. The first is connected to my Apple Airport wireless modem. I tried to connect the NETGEAR Arlo Pro Base Station model VMB4000 to the second port but the "Internet" LED remains off.
Tried: other two ports on router, different ethernet cable, and different base station fron another arlo pro kit... same result. Any ideas.

Try and move the Apple Airport to one of the non working ports and see if it still works.
While it's unplugged from its port try one of the bases in the working port.
Ports can go faulty.
As a matter of interest, what is the model number of the cable company router?

Model is a Surfboard SBG6580 from Brighthouse Networks (now Spectrum)...
I tried the port switch you recomended and you are correct the only working port is the one i was using for my Apple Airport...
Moved my desktop to wireless connection mode and used the port I had hard wired to desktop compter on the Apple Airport for the Arlo Base Station. Now all is working.
Thanks for the help.
