Power cycle the base and wait overnight for the automatic update.

There's a Contact Support link at the bottom here with various options.

Really, that's the best technical help you can offer, turn it off and back on again. Why does Netgear not have a solution to this problem? I purchased my Arlo Pro two days ago and have not been able to connect it because of this firmware issue. And despite logging a case, calling the tech support line (I waited at least 20 mins each time) and trying the live chat without getting an agent, I have not yet had any response from Netgear.

We aren't there so all we can do is try what's helped before.  If you've tried what was suggested and it hasn't helped (you don't say that you have tried), use the reset button until the LEDs flash amber. Remove all devices in Settings, My Devices and start fresh using the Add Device button on the Devices tab.

I'm having the same issue - shame you can't download the file yourself and update via USB. Now I need to take my station and all cameras somewhere with broadband internet to update (and hope it will work)

Are you sure you want to update to 1.9.4.0_15548?

I wish I didn't have to say yes because the file continually fails to download.

I have cycled the base station on and off. Very disappointed to have yet another "Mandatory Updates" device in my life with nothing to do but keep trying.

Is your Internet speed-limited? There have been a number of posts reporting that moving the system to a location with faster Internet allowed the update to occur.  If not, while it would be a PITA, the quickest fix would be to reset the system by removing all devices from Settings, My Devices and start fresh. Any firmware updates should be automatically installed.
