I've set the recording period to 60seconds when the camera detects movement however the camera seem to record for random periods ranging for a few seconds up to 60seconds. Any clues please? Many thanks Tim

Firstly how long can you live view the problem camera and manually record? Should be 30mins before it drops. Then check the library recording duration matches.

If the camera is externally powered, change to battery only and see if behaves the same.

A typical issue is signal strength/quality for the camera connection. If the signal is lost or sufficiently degraded, recording stops. You can try bringing the camera closer to your base for testing to see if that changes the issue.

Hi Dannybear

Thanks for your response.

I've tried a manual record of 5m 30sec and the recordings match.

The cameras are all battery powered. We have three which we rotate so one is being charged whilst the other two are in operation.

The erratic recordings are across any of the three cameras and can be within minutes of a perfectly good recording.

Very confusing and frustrating but appreciate your suggestions.

Hi Guru

We do have poor wifi and broadband at times so this could be an option however, we have three cameras rotated in two locations so that one can be charged at any time and we can keep two cameras operational at all times. One camera is only 5m from the base unit and the second 25m. This issue is experienced in either location with any of the three cameras.

Mostly all ok at 1min today however cam1 cut at 18sec and 22sec and cam2 46sec and 48sec at different times of the day. Unfortunately I can't see a pattern.

Many thanks

Tim

If the cameras can continuously record using manual recording then it is more likely to be arlo backend related.
Another proof test is to manually record all cameras at the same time to prove that there is no bandwidth throttling of the internet path.
If this works fine then it points to the camera firmware not switching to fixed record length as set in the camera mode rules.
