my cabin has no internet but I would like to get the arlo pro for its wire free ability. Can I use a flash drive in the system and change it out each time to view the video it has recorded at home or on a lap top?

Not really... your problem would be having NO control of the camera or base as all commands go thru the internet to the servers and back.

You would be better off with a self contain system that has it's own recorder so all you need is power.

The only way around this may be a mobile hotspot that has an ethernet port so you can set the base and Pro cameras up fully at the location and set commands as needed AND THEN if the base loses internet ( hotspot off ) the backup flash drive would continue to record any activity as prev set
