I have more than 6 cameras and more than 3 bases. Base 1 has 5 cameras working and base 2 gives me a message stating the camera needs a paid subscription in order to connect. Can I connect 5 cameras to each base without paying a subscription?

You would be limited to 5 non subscription legacy cameras per account.
In the past you could get away with using a second account but that has now been locked down with the release of arlo’s new app experiment.

To clarify this - you can still get away with using a second account. But the free 7-day cloud storage for the Pro will end on 1 April 2023, when it goes EoL.
So you will need a subscription for Pro cameras at that point, even if you have only 5 cameras.
