If the account and system is set up in the US with a US credit card, yes. Just to make it a bit easier, use the same WiFi SSID and password in Venezuela as in the US. Otherwise you'd need to change the WiFi connection in the camera settings.

And, once I set up the cameras here in USA with the Ethernet cable to my router, then in Venezuela they just do the same thing and everything it’s going to be all set ? No matter the smarthub had been connected to my router in USA before the other one in Vzla ?

    Correct.

Do you mean the indoor camera???  All the outdoor Essentials have batteries (though they can be connected to AC power with an outdoor-rated charger).

Either way, the 2nd gen Essentials are compatible with the smarthub.

Assuming they are outdoor, it might be wise to get a rain shield to put over the cameras.  Something like this:

Or just make sure they are under something.  Normally not needed, but I'm thinking that it might be good, since Venezuela does have a rainy season.

Thank you so much for the answer.

Any model can be used ? Just to be 100% sure, I’m going to do the purchase as soon as possible.

When you mean SSID you are saying to change the profile wifi settings in Venezuela before we will set the cameras ? Right ? And I could manage everything from USA right?

thank you so much for your help !!

Any model should be ok.  Though you might find it convenient to use cameras with removable batteries (taking them out when you ship them).  But those are more expensive.

If you don't own the router in Venezuela there are a couple caveats:

  • the smarthub needs to be connected to ethernet, so you need to make sure you have that.
  • If you are connecting the camera directly to wifi (not smarthub) then you do need to use a network that does not require any authentication (entry of a username/password or code after you connect to the network).

Just to clarify @jguerdat's response...

If you are planning to use a smarthub with the cameras, then you can just set them up in the US.  The cameras connect over a closed wifi to the smarthub, so there is no reason to change any profiles.

If you are using a camera connected directly to your home wifi, then it is simplest to connect them to the same network name/password in the US that you will use in Venezuela. If you own the network router there, you can of course just set up both networks to use the same profile.

Thank you so much Mr. Stephen,

one more question please, I need to minimize the error, so .. I think the best option it’s going to be use a smarthub, 2 questions: I’m going to buy 2 wired 2nd gen, those ones works normally with the smarthub ?

And, once I set up the cameras here in USA with the Ethernet cable to my router, then in Venezuela they just do the same thing and everything it’s going to be all set ? No matter the smarthub had been connected to my router in USA before the other one in Vzla ?

thank you so much for all your help
