Hi all,

I read the article on mounting the cameras and would like to mount my cameras on the underside or side of my guttering.

It's a metallic surface, and I currently just put the camera on it directly without needing a mount.  However, I want to use the metallic 'dome' mount that came with the system, but don't want to drill any holes in my roof to install it.

I was thinking of using some strong magnets (like this) to attach the 'dome' mount to the guttering. I'd then be able to attach the camera to the 'dome' mount, and adjust the viewing angles to suit.  The magnets are rated to support more weight than the camera's weight, so I was thinking that this'd be ok.

Is this a good idea?  Will the magnets adversely affect the camera's electronics?

Thanks in advance.

Many gutters are aluminum so your magnet idea may not work...also the back side of the half ball mounts are plastic.

but what does work is 3 M molding tape on the  back of the half ball... I use enough to cover the entire bottom then install...

also there are gutter clips that allow camera mountings

but to answer your question, the magnets prob won’t effect the electronics as there is a powerful magnet there already

Thanks for replying!  I've already attached the camera directly to the guttering without the mount, so it probably can be attached.

And yes, there's already a strong magnet attached to the camera... so the electronics most likely won't be affected.

Thanks again.
