I am wondering if anyone has real world Canadian winter experience with Arlo Pros. I am in Alberta where it can get down to -30C and lower for weeks on end. Wondering if these extreme low temps will damage the camera and/or batteries. Should I just take them inside the house (which sucks) or leave them outside even once they are dead until I find time to recharge them. Wondering at what point will the batteries freeze and expand and break. I do have original Arlos with rechargeable tenergy batteries that I'm returning this week to bestbuy (decided to get pros instead) unless someone thinks they will work much better in the cold. Thanks. Please be specific on how cold your area gets and what battery life one can expect based on how many videos a day you take, how long, optimized or high video setting, ect.

from web;

Many portable radios must perform at -40º C. Conventional Lithium-ion chemistry starts to suffer as the temperature drops below freezing. As the temperature drops below 0° C, the internal impedance of the battery increases. The result of this effect is “voltage droop”, which becomes more pronounced at -20º C or lower. Cell capacity is also reduced during these lower temperatures. If these cells are used or stored at -50º C, irreparable damage may occur under certain conditions to internal separators within the cells, making the cells a safety hazard.

As in the Arlo cameras ( PRO ) they auto shut down at -4F ( -20c) and will give youa messg saying they must warm up before use..Also , they will not allow charging till above freezing as it can damage the cells

( I have had my cams in the freezer for many hours at -4F , with not damage )

MY other cameras have seen a low of -10F without issue.  I have seen the batteries seem to loose half their power ( voltage sag ) , but came back as warmed up...and they continued to function even with low temps

Can't speak of result or issue at your mentioned temps as they are also outside the specs of the camera

PS... the regular Arlos did not shut off at -10f ( while the Pros didi at -4F )
