Camera senses motion even when Turned OFF?

hi 

i have a holiday home that i rent out, i currently subscribe to a security service that notifies me if there is someone in my house, however it will only do so if the alarm is armed,

is it possible to do the same with the arlo pro or would it send me notifications all the time someone walked past the sensor

You can set modes which arm and disarm cameras and you can set them to run on a schedule only when motion is detected.
