A friend just walked all the across my house (past the camera on the stairs, halfway and kitchen)... all my wife and I saw was 2 recordings of the dog camera and a kitchen recording. She has an iPhone and I have samsung android device..
We can't have a security system that doesn't record... strangely the email notifications said that motion was detected on stairs and halfway!

sounds like some how your modes / rules got messed up.

First try a reboot of the base ( power button off/ on ) and test.  If still NG , you may have to remove the cameras ( REMOVE DEVICE ) and bring back as new.... this will rebuild the default modes
