The cameras work perfectly when plugged in without the battery!

The charge station came with it's own power supply. Have you tried both the power supply and usb cable that came with the cameras and the one that came with the charge station?
It would be really unusual to have multiple faulty batteries and multiple faulty power supplies.
Silly question but are you sure you are using a working mains socket?

When you say charging station, did you purchase the optional charging station or are you talking about the power adapter/charger that came with the camera? If the latter, are you sure you are using the Arlo power adapter and not one for charging your phone? The reason I mention this is that the chargers for your phones only output 5 volts DC. The Arlo power adapter is a Qualcom 2 voltage adapter. It uses 5 volts to run the cameras but uses 9 volts to charge the batteries. It is common for people to accidently use their phone chargers thinking they are the Arlo power adapters. They are not the same.
