Why do all of my cameras discharge so fast? I have replaced the batteries and reset the base but I still only get a few weeks charge. There is no way to contact Arlo to get any answers. I may have to just get a new system, I like the system but with 0 support I think I will have to buy a different product if I can’t come up with a solution

  1. What cameras do you have?
  2. Is this a new problem, or is it an old one?
  3. About how many minutes of video is a camera recording per day (if you use activity zones, you need to delete them to estimate this)?
  4. What signal strength are you seeing?  Any indication that the cameras are going off-line?

1. I have the pro model camera

2. I have had the cameras for several, years and the system has worked great i would only have to recharge every 6 months, but in the last 6 months all of the batteries discharge within weeks. I have installed new batteries but they still discharge immediately.

3. I charged the system about 3 weeks ago but left 3 of the cameras off and the one that was on did not record any motion. yet all 4 cameras are now dead

4. every time i checked they were on line

Thanks for responding.

I think there have been some issues with the Arlo cloud over the past few weeks.  Maybe the right next step is to charge the batteries again, and see if the excessive drain continues?

Perhaps others here will post other suggestions.

Do you have any problems with live view and/or recording? This rather sounds like a signal strength/quality issue. Bring a camera closer to your base for testing to see what happens.

No problems with viewing or recording. 2 of the cameras are less than 20’ from the hub

Does the same occur if you place a camera a few feet from your base station? It also sounds like the battery capacity has degraded over time.

I just put new batteries in all of the units and 1 of the cameras are within 3' of the hub.

I tried turning only one camera on too, but all four drained at the same rate (within 3 weeks)

Do you notice the cameras reporting offline frequently by chance? Have you made any changes to your network or moved around any equipment (Modem/Router/Base Station closer to each other)? It's weird it's happening on all of the cams at the same time.

The router and modem have stayed the same and in the same location. It does take a while for the live feed to popup sometimes.
