Very frustrating trying to turn off the spotlight. Under the website section Device Info > Regulatory it says: Model VMC2030.

In the article "How does the spotlight on my Arlo camera work?" it says this can be done under "Video Settings > Low Light Settings". The article says it applies to VMC2030. But there are no low light settings on my video settings page. Screenshot attached. Oh wait, you don't have a way to attach a screenshot.

One difference, I'm accessing the Device Info through Shared Devices, not through My Devices. Does that make a difference?

You do (and I do it fairly frequently).  You can use the camera icon in the toolbar or the "drag and drop here" underneath.  It's possible that you haven't posted enough to get those options.  Formats include PNG and JPG (if the file extension is jpeg it needs to be renamed).

If you use the camera icon, the screenshot is embedded in the post.  That requires mod review before it is visible here, and that can take a while.

Likely it does, as spotlight control isn't listed here:

I'm tagging the mods ( @JamesC and @ShayneS ) as it seems to me that it should be possible to control the spotlight when livestreaming in a friend account.

If you don't have "access rights", then maybe get that and try again.

Thanks @StephenB! The only camera icon I see while composing this reply looks like a video camera, and clicking it invites me to insert a URL. If I enter a .png url I get "Please enter a valid video URL". So I gingerly proffer this URL in plaintext:

Holy cow did that work?!  Simply pasting a url into the message got an inline image?? Isn't technology wunnerful.

No joy. It only showed in the editor but would not post. I got an error "...changed because invalid HTML". Okay here's a hobbled URL:

https .. / / bobste.in/images/video_settings_no_low_light_settings.png

Anyway if you can see it, that's a screenshot of my shared video settings which is lacking in low-light settings.

Thanks for the help.

This time trying drag-and-drop to insert a png file...

Cool! That seemed to work. (Though there was no visual cue that I could "drag and drop here".)

Normally you'd be adding from a PC (choosing the file) - not entering a URL.

FWIW, most portals I use upload files using the same process.

I don't have the impression you're tallying the bugs I'm finding in this messaging portal so I'll stop.

Any progress finding a way for me to turn off the spotlight? I only have access to Shared Devices (not My Devices).

To clarify - this is a user-user forum and I don't work for Arlo.

I suggest first finding out if the user of the primary account can turn the spotlight off.
