My camera will not sync with the battery installed. Only if it is plugged in with the charging cable. I have replaced the battery with another and still won't sync. So do I have a bad battery or a bad camera?

HW version H8

Firmware version 1.092.0.5_13833

Could be either.  Do you have another camera to swap batteries around to help nail it down?

 

Either way it's a hardware issue - open a case with support.

I swapped the battery and it still would not sync. I had a case opened with support and they gave me a couple of things to try, most of which I had already tried without success. After about 5 attempts, I finally got it to sync so the case was closed. Now it is doing it again. I think I just need a new camera.

Agreed. Open a new case, referencing your old one.
