Just spent $700 on Arlo Pro. Very poor picture quality/ video quality. Cannot recognize anything. Very slow motion detection. Very disappointed. Will return.

skibowu,

From what you're describing, it sounds like you might be having a connection issue. Possibly poor signal strength due to range or WiFi interference.

What does the signal strength meter show for the camera? Does it behave the same way if you (temporarily) relocate the camera close to the base station?

I seem to be having the same problem,  Just bought 3 camera system today.  Installation was easy, no issue with firmware updates.  But motion detection won't kick in at greater than 10 feet and video/picture quality is terrible.  At less than 10 feet from camera my face is a fleshtone blob and 2 1/2 inch lettering on my t-shirt is unrecognizable.  WIFI strength meter on all cameras is max and my internet upload speed is >100Mbps.  Tried modifying video settings for best quality but didn't have any noticeable affect.

Did you turn up the motion sensitivity for each camera?

Yes, I did try changing the setting on motion sensitivity but didn't make much difference no matter where I set the slider.

Where are you adjusting the sensitivity?  In Settings, My Devices, your camera, Video Settings is a motion detection test where you can use it to determine what sensitivity level is appropriate.  However, it's never saved there since you may need different setiings for different times.  In the Mode tab, click on your base and edit the Armed mode.  Set the sensitivity where you want it and be sure to save - use the Back link at the top on the app or Edit Rule link on the web.  Save the rule.  That should fix it.

Better yet, create your own custom mode(s) and leave the Armed mode alone for troubleshooting purposes.  Full instructions can be found in the FAQs here.
