I just installed my 4 camera system this weekend, yep very easy, however

I’m VERY disappointed in the programming features available to me, I've had MUCH cheaper systems, yes took longer to install but what I could do in programming I thought would have been VERY basic for Arlo.

Setting up scheduling on my much cheaper system I could program each individual camera as to when I wanted it to be active and non-active, I could set multiple times in one day. Example, I could program the cameras to be active while at work, off once I got home, back on once I went to bed to protect me while I slept and then set a different schedule for the weekend when my routine was totally different.

From what I found it seems I get one schedule for the whole system and only one schedule, am I missing something major?

got can set up your schedule to do as you have stated .
I have 1 schedule that is set for work from 8-5 with all cameras armed and in for the night from 7pm-6am with all cameras armed except indoors.

Likely.  It's all in your modes and rules.  Create custom modes with rules for a particular scenario.  Create anothe custom mode for another scenario.  Create as many as you need.  Then schedule the individual modes as needed.  No need for multiple schedules - you just schedule the appropriate mode at the appropriate times.
