I purchased my Arlo Pro set in May 2017. I have 4 camera on which all 4 batteries are completely dead and will not recharge at all. I called Technical Support and was advised that the batteries only have a full life expectancy of 2 years - I was told that I would need to purchase 4 replacement batteries. Is that accurate? Do you have to plan on spending $50 per battery ($200 in total) after 2 years of use?

I suggest always recharging the batteries no later than the 15% when you should get a warning email about low battery.
If the batteries are totally dead, read the FAQ here about how to get them going again. They need to be plugged in 6 times or so to get enough charge in them to allow a full charge to happen. The simple way to avoid this is to charge proactively.
