Arlo Pro What do I need to do to RECORD activity when motion is detected?

I have installed my 5 camera system, and get great clarity on my iPad from all 5 cameras. My question is this:  What do I need to do to RECORD activity when motion is detected?  Do I need to a device, or must I subscribe to a recording plan?

I have figured out how to set up the cameras, but what I am asking is how to SAVE the images to a library, preferably without having to pay $2,99 per month per camera for storage. What type of storage device can I add?

Your videos are saved in the cloud and accessed by using the Library tab. Any videos you want to keep before they rotate off as they age, according to your plan (7 days for free), requires that you download them yourself. You can also use a USB drive (flash drive recommended) to save your videos as they are uploaded to the cloud. You'll have to eject the drive from the base to view them on a computer.
