I set up a scheduled time on my 2 cameras between 12pm-6pm, but when i go to the app, during that timeframe, the cameras are not "ON". What am I doing wrong?

Your Default "Mode" should be "Schedule" and inside that schedule should be your custom Mode you're suppose to create with a set of Days/Times Schedule when to have your camera(s) turn ON/OFF..

Yes, I figured out how to set up the schedule, but do you manually turn off the cameras. Or do you just leave them on, and they'll only record motion during the scheduled time?

you can go back to schedule and edit Mode to "Disarmed" and setup a schedule on this from Mon-Sun

Not sure what you're saying here but any time period in the schedule without a mode set is automatically disarmed. You can't schedule the Disarmed mode - the choice isn't even presented.
