All questions regarding this subject are simply too old and don't apply to the new Arlo Pro Base Station.

Regarding Arlo Pro local recording, is it possible to make it to a NAS device instead of over USB. I have a NAS system on my network, but no drive on a USB close to the station.

TBOMK, No... the only output is via the USB and not a network attached drive,

Many NAS units have an input-only USB port. It's a long shot but it may be possible. Otherwise, only a USB drive of some sort (thumb drive, etc.) will work.

Two NAS unit I'm considering (QNAP TS-453A and TS-453B mini) both have USB (3.0 and 2.0) ports - are you saying that these NAS devices wouldn't work as a USB storage device when connected via one of these ports to the Arlo Base Station?

It would only work if the NAS can be seen as a USB device through it's port. Most of those ports are input only so won't work.
