Arlo Pro Camera to Department of Education Network

I bought the Arlo Netgear Pro VMB4000 for my school's canteen. The connection light will not turn from orange to green. Our IT department says you need to log into the device and put in a proxy address. I can't see a way to log into the base station to connect. I tried a bridge connection through a laptop that was connected via the wifi. Has anyone got any suggestions or will I return it?

You can NOT log into the base unit...there is no password....

your IT dept must allow it to access the Internet or it will not function 

ports 80 and 443 need to be open

sometimes as some have mentioned also UDP 123 (NTP).
