Am considering getting a power supply that would allow me to push power to all the cameras via one device. I would like to keep batteries in cameras and understand it requires 9v to keep the batteries charged, but the question is, can it stay at 9v the entire time and charge battery and run the camera or does it need the 5v portion as well?

With batteries in the camera, it only needs the 9v.

However the cameras and charger make use of Qualcomm's quick charge chipset.

Be aware that you will void your warranty if you use any other aftermarket power supply.

As a PS... Without the battery pack installed, the camera will run fine on a regular micro usb adapter of 5v / 1.5a
