Hello everyone,
Apologies for not able to fix the trivial problem and asking the obvious questions.
I have an Arlo Pro cameras and Basestation which have been working fine for quite sometime. I had my Arlo Basestation hardwired to my PortalWifi Router which is conected to Netgear Modem. This set up has been working fine for couple of months.
Now I got a new S8000 Netgear Nighthawk switch. So I tried connecting my Arlo Base station on it but Basestation never comes online.
The middle light (intenet light) stays turned off.
Please note I have connected my portal wifi route to the swtich and it works fine. If I connect my Arlo base station to Portal Wifi router which is conected to the switch and which is connected to the modem, that setup works fine. But connecting the Arlo Base station to swtich doesn't work. Am I missing something obvious? I thought it should have worked right out of the box.
Any help is appreciated!

If the Internet LED on the base is off, no connection is being made to the router. It can be a bad port on the base (unlikely since it works otherwise), a bad cable, or a bad port on the switch. Are there any lights on the switch port that indicate a connection? Have you tried a different cable and port?
I'm not familiar with these new-fangled switches but this one indicates a GUI interface for setup. It may be some sort of change needs to be made - "Choose between low latency gaming, high priority media streaming, standard LAN networking, or your own user-defined modes." Maybe one port needs to be set for standard LAN networking?

You could try a factory reset on the router to see what happens.
