If I recall correctly, the previous Arlo Pro 6-camera system (4 Arlos + 2 ArloQ) had a special code or something to allow the 6th camera to be included in free service, which is typically restricted to 5 cameras.

Is it the same case with the Arlo Pro 6-camera system? I read some review in which the person said the 6th camera can be a spare if you do not want to upgrade from the free service.

And what is the typical lag/latency of the what is happening vs. what you see on live-video feed? Is it 3-4sec typically?

Thx,

AFAIK, the 6th camera will require a subscription if it is to be used at the same time as the other 5.

There is the option to deactivate cameras. They stay sync'd but non-operating until you drag them back into the list of up to 5 active cameras.

The latency depends on a few things like the distance from the camera to base, the speed of your internet connection, ping etc. I would suggest a delay of 2-3 seconds is about average

I just purchased the 6 camera pro setup. I synchronized all six camera and they are all active on the same free account. I will have to get a paid subscription if I want another camera

Interesting. So you can see all 6 but you're still on the basic plan? Did you have to enter any kind of code somewhere?

No. When I created my account, it recognized the 6 pack purchase, I guess from the model number, and automatically allowed 6 cameras

I just bought the Arlo Pro 6-camera system and although I could have all 6 cameras synched up, I could only have a max of 5 cameras active. The 6th camera is inactive until I move one camera down to be inactive before I could move the inactive camera up to the active section.

So looks like I would have to upgrade from the basic plan if I want all 6 cameras to be active simultaenously. =(

No, @tanahome. If you bought a 6 camera pack, you should be able to use all 6 on the basic, free plan. Hit up Customer Support in the link at the bottom of the page and they'll make sure it works for you

tanahome,

There are special kits that include the capability for viewing 6 cameras without being on a paid subscription plan. There are a couple requirements for this to work:

-The account must be registered in the US or Canada

-The account must be new (no Arlo devices have ever been registered on the account in the past)

If you've had an Arlo system set up on the account in the past, you'll need to create a brand new account (using a different email address) and go through the setup process again on the new account.

So there is no solution to use the 6th camera if I had a previous base station assigned to my account? I returned my 3 cam purchase due to some video problems and I decided to get the 6 camera bundle after some thought.

Can I ask the support group to completely delete my current account? I don't want to assign a new email address on the arlo pro as all my security stuff are on that one email...

ice_man,

If you want to use the same email address, you will need to contact support and make a request.

Please contact the Arlo Support Team. You will find several options for contacting support in the provided link.

JamesC, I did.. they said I needed to create a new account. Which would mean that I need to use a different email address.

It's a pain, but you have to deactivate your Arlo base station so they can then delete your account. If you have videos you want to save, then download them before contacting them to delete your account.
