Is there a way to reinsert the flexible plastic cover protecting the mini USB charging port on the camera?  It has come out and is now held in place with tape.

I've had a few instances of needing to keep wiggling the cover to get it to seat properly. Just work at it a bit so you don't need to use tape.

My issue is not the cover but rather the tab at the opposite end that is inserted into the camera housing and "locked" in place.  That end has come out and i have it now taped to the outside body of the camera.  If the tape doesn't hold, the entire plastic piece may fall off and be blown with the wind before i ever see it on the ground.  My question is how to reinsert it so that it is locked in again.  This may require opening the camera body, but will this just be a horrible decision.

That's only happened to me once so this may not be a permanent fix for all such issues but I used a very small (jeweler's) screwdriver to carefully push the "pins" on that end back into place.
